  1.                      QUICKBBS CONFERENCE RULES

  3. 1. Do not be easily annoyed.
  4.  
  5.     This _should_ be self explanatory, but for anyone wanting
  6.     or needing greater detail it frequently means to not reply
  7.     to a message in the echo.  Use netmail instead.
  8.  
  9. 2.  Do not be excessively annoying.
  10.  
  11.     This, too, often means to use netmail instead.  However,
  12.     there are some items which have been categorized as
  13.     being annoying.
  14.  
  15.       Use of profanity since many readers are young
  16.       Quoting someone else's profanity verbatim
  17.       Non-compliance with general echo policies
  18.       Use of "high-end" characters in echo messages
  19.       Posting of "test" messages
  20.       Advertisements of any sort except for QuickBBS
  21.           releases and programs that are written
  22.           specifically for QuickBBS. This includes
  23.           BBS ads, multi-line "signatures" and
  24.           file listings
  25.       Posting of "flame" or derogatory messages,
  26.           including ethnic or racial references
  27.       Posting of moderator type messages without the
  28.           moderator requesting such assistance
  29.       Non-compliance with a moderation message
  30.  
  31. 3.  Keep to the topic of the conference, QuickBBS.
  32.  
  33.     This is perhaps the most significant of all.  Messages in
  34.     the echo are to relate to the operation/setup of QuickBBS
  35.     and the interfacing of the various support software.
  36.     Questions/messages about these supporting programs should
  37.     be related to their use with QuickBBS and not be solely
  38.     related to the operation/setup/enhancement of the support
  39.     program.

  41. 4.  FidoNet origin lines are required in the QuickBBS echo.
  42.  
  43.     In an effort to reduce duplicate message traffic in this
  44.     FidoNet-origin conference, the use of official Zonegates
  45.     into other networks is required.  Messages originating
  46.     on non-Fidonet systems must be routed so that a FidoNet
  47.     address is appended by their Zonegate.  Systems with dual
  48.     identities are required to include their FidoNet address
  49.     in their origin line.  Their alternate address may also
  50.     appear, but the FidoNet address is required.

  52. 5.  Receipt of the QuickBBS echo is permitted any echomail
  53.     capable system.  Any user may be permitted READ access to
  54.     the echo, however, WRITE access is restricted to sysops and
  55.     persons in the process of becoming QuickBBS sysops.
